I have two Oscars, a Tiger and an Albino, living in a 55 gallon tank. Every now and then, they will charge at each other, mouths agape, until one backs down. I also wish to point out that they do not make contact at any point when they do this. Also, occasionally, my Tiger Oscar will flare its gills. I'm just wanting to have some other opinions on their behavior. :fish:

It's one of two things. They want to kill each other or they want to mate... Seriously there's really no way to tell.

Check out oscars 101, I touch on keeping multiple oscars and tank size and such.

Incidently welcome the the C-F. There's wealth of knowledge here! I hope you enjoy your stay!

I'm also going to do you a favor. I'm going to lock this thread and send you a pm. If i don't many will come on telling you you need a much larger tank, or tell you to get rid of one of your oscars. I don't want you to be turned off by the C-F so I'm going to do some damage control for you.

Try to understand, the people that frequent this folder, the oscar folder simply love oscars as much as I do, if not more than I do and they'll want to see you do what's best for your fish. It's hard to interpret "tone" or "attitude" when reading what someone types and I don't want you to get the wrong impression. I hope you understand!

Thanks very much!
TFG :)
