The 2217 input hose is 16mm or 5/8" and the output hose is 12mm or 1/2".

I wasn't aware the theo was an inline heater. Do you mean Hydor? If so, the ETH 200 (200 Watt) will fit on the output tubing.

yeah my bad, the hydor eth, I run a bunch of hydor theos so I just "mispoke"

ok awesome, I guess another question would be, is 200 watts enough for a 125? or would I need two

I have an ETH 200 hooked up to a 2215 to heat my 55 gallon. The room temp is typically about 8-10 degrees cooler than the tank temp. The ETH runs for around 30-45 minutes each time it turns on to heat the tank. Based on this, my gut tells me it might be a bit underpowered on a 125. However, if you’re not in a huge hurry, why not try it with just the one ETH? You can always add a second if needed.

As JRF said, a lot depends on the ambient room temperature, type of tank lighting (when on) and the desired tank temperature.

My tanks are in a 68F room. My 220G has one Hydor 300 Watt on an Eheim 2262, the 75G has one Hydor 200 Watt on an Eheim 2028 and the 125G has one Hydor 300W on an Eheim 2260. I am having no problems maintaining the tanks at 78F to 82F.

well I was thinking of getting the 300 watt for the 125, I run a 200 watt heater on my 75, but the place I was going to order my filter from only has the 200 watt eth's, I just may have to get the filter somewhere else that has the 300 watt.

during the summer I have no issues with tank temps, but I don't really use the house heater in the winter, so I'd be worried about the temps being too low when I first start the tank up for a couple of months.

I'll get the 300 watt, it should be enough without being too much imo

wait they do have the 300 watt, you just have to change the hose size first, odd
