For the last few days my Calvus looks like it has something in its mouth. I havent seen him eat or anything since I noticed this.
Do you think its possible he has a rock stuck in there?
Should I take him out and have a closer look?

Sounds like a dislocated jaw to me. Does it look like it is protruding?

The longer it stays in this position, the less likely it will ever recover. If caught early, it can still be fixed by pushing the jaw back in.(But you would have to keep doing this as the jaw will keep popping out)

I had a female wildcaught yellow calvus that had this problem and i just left it. After a while it got used to it and could feed and even went on to breed a few more times before it died to egg bound =(

Ugly yes, but it won't kill.(at least in my case)
