Impossible to tell much from those pics--sorry! What appears to be a solid submarginal black band in the dorsal would point away from C. afra Jalo Reef tho.

Don't think the fish are the same species.

The first fish looks more like an Elongatus type. Not an Afra. Why do you think it is male?

Second fish could be an Afra, impossible to tell what type.

Just a hunch if he was a male. I've been trying to get a hold of jalo reef for a while now. I bit the bullet and just ordered them from bluegrass aquatics. I have them in my grow out tank now (not pictured). Now I wait for them to grow :drooling:

Just a hint for the future. When you see fish that don't have bars that are even, or uniform, don't buy the fish. Much of the time this is going to be due to hybridization, but it does occur with poor breeding as well.

I would remove this fish, before adding in the new Jalo Reef's you purchased.
