If you had to pick one...

...species from Tanganyika to mix with Haps and Peacocks which would it be? 5', 100 gallon.
I would like to give it a try because my kid loves the Compressiceps and Calvus.

I have tried mixing them (calvus and other Tangs with haps and peacocks) without success...I would not do it again.
Tanganyikans may not thrive, be stressed out or just survive, or not show any color, and many of the medium sized can be very territorial.

Probably the easiest would be Brichardi complex, but if you had a breeding pair that may cause huge problems. Larger Julidochromis might do okay, if not too small to begin with.

Maybe you can adopt an unwanted single adult of something.

So this is the story. For most of my fishkeeping, since 2003 I have kept only Haps and Peackocks occasionally mixing yellow labs, rusties and acei with good success. I'm wanting to get my wife and young son more involved and they want me too add some diversity to our 5', 100g tank. I was hoping that a differently shaped tang could work. I'm also researching to see if I can get away with a barred mbuna in there such as a male demasoni, saulosi or mbamba. D. Compressiceps would be different but will get too big for my 5' tank so I don't want to go there.
