What are some factors that play a role in the optimal growth of fish that i can use to make sure my fish grow to their full potential and size? I have 2 Malawi cichlids that are juvies and just over an inch and a half in size. the are in a ten gallon tank till a get my new one in mid august.

warmer water too right? I was told 83-84 was ok as long as you have a bubbler running? this is a question as much as a response.

I don't have air conditioning so I have to grit my teeth and bear it as my 125 gallon creeps its way to 83.5 degrees. My africans don't seem to mind though. They're still breeding and fry are still living in the summer, so IME this temperature is fine, though not necessarily optimal. I don't have a bubbler.

As others have said, lots of food and lots of water changes are the key. A higher temperature theoretically may increase growth, though of course it must still be within the acceptable band. I currently do 66% water changes weekly.
