Just took apart my 40 gallon breeder, drained it out, took out the sand, cleaned the entire tank then the equiptment, whent to exotic aquatics(LFS), got new sand, got 3 electric yellows about 2-3 in(they were both females and were holding EGGS at the fish store so I had to get them.) Now they are swimming happely in the 40 breeder and I'm happy that I converted to the mbuna religion

With a very thorough cleaning like that keep an eye out for an ammonia or nitrite spike, especially if you did a thorough filter clean.

Why the massive cleaning first?

Is that the Excotic Aquatics in NW Indiana by any chance?

Mbunas are sensitive to water and the tank was filled with algae(planted tank before the cleaning) and the chemistry was [email protected]#$ed up as well as the entire tank its self. So when I converted to the religion  of keeping mbuna's i decided to do a complete tank teardown and start over.
