I know there will be variability between species, maturity levels, etc., but roughly how often do female mbuna hold? 2-3 weeks ago, 2 M. estherae spit in one of my tanks, and today I noticed another holding estherae. Just trying to determine if it is more than likely a 3rd female, or if one of the recent spitters could have another mouthful already.

More than possible that she's breeding again. To be honest, I don't know what's typical, but I know 2-3 weeks isn't a stretch. I'd want to say closer to a month is "normal," just so they have time to bulk up again and produce a new batch of eggs.

2-3 weeks is enough time for a female to spit and then start holding again. So you never know... could be same fish could be another.
