So I'm looking to change over my 55G African tank into something more community related.
Just got the bug to change things up.

I found a guy who wants to add some midsized ones to his 240G tank.
Seems like a good spot for them.

So I have 14 total.
4 Yellow Labs
2 Red Peacocks
2 Sunshines
2 Deep Water Haps
2 Electric Blues
2 Zebra OBs

I'm not looking to make money, but I'd like something you know...
They're all like 3 or 4In fish. I figure the average is like $12 a fish.

Does $75 seem right?

I guess, I mean I know I've spent more.
But this saves me from transporting them to a LFS and arranging that.

2 stores said they'd have to "See them first" so I guess you run the risk of taking down the tank to catch them bringing them in... and them not wanting them.

What would you say a not so fair price would be? :D

Also about 4 stores said they couldn't take them b/c they're too big. And Craigslist seems like a pain.

I would not pay more than $70 or $75 for them. If they were F1 or had collection points or were fully grown and exceptionally fine specimens I'd go higher.

if anyone gives you $75 for them, consider yourself very fortunate!
Rehoming pets can often be a situation where you barely get any of your money back.

+1 its a hobby not an investment. Most ppl around here are forced to give them away or get a cpl $ per fish if they are lucky. If he says yeah to $75 id start tearing it down n catch b4 he changes his mind!

I wasn't looking to get paid really, just a little something...
Anyway, didn't get $75 in cash but I did get some stuff for my Reef tank.

Needed a new refractometer, he traded one...
And also a used Power Head and a hardly used Reef Master test kit
So about $75 in value or so. Refractometers are like $50 around here.

Oh yeah, I was also going to say...
About 3 weeks ago a Y.Lab was holding, but I saw no babies.

So when I was taking out my rock-work all of a sudden I saw this little pinky-nail sized Y.Lab appear.

About 2 minutes went by, then everyone saw the fry and a Deep Water Hap swooped in and swallowed it whole.

Crazy how it was living under a rock for 3 weeks, I thought the fish just never had the babies.
