I got what i think is a flame tail peacock but it's just now starting to color. This fish is about 4" long and has a blue jaw line and is starting to get a orange body.

So how long should it take to fully color out .

Thanks

color is also dependent on whether the male is dominant (alpha male of the group)... a male who is low in teh peeking order may not show much color, even if mature. Since you male may now be in a situation in which he can color up, he may be on the way to coloring up in the next few weeks.

Food has little to do with whether the male colors up or not, it is a peeking order thing. NLS may make the yellow-orange colors better.
