hot water

:eek: I GOT HOME from work at 11 pm central the acs power strip turned off and the water got really hot, now my gold occies are acting really weird like if their blind they eat but after making circles around the food and they refuse to leave the bottom. usually they hover when i get home and they are hardly breathing. filtration is a magnum 350 and an emperor 400 oh tank size is a 55. the malasa cyps in their could care less. what do yall think?? help please

Whoah, slow down. Don't worry about them breeding just yet! How are you going to keep the 10 gallon cool? That little amount of water is going to be subject to much greater temperature variations.

I don't have A/C and during heat waves (incl. >100 deg) I used to freeze blocks of ice over night and add them in the morning, freeze another during the day, and add it in the evening. With increased surface agitation, leaving the lights off and unplugging the heater I haven't lost fish despite my tanks going above 90 degrees.

When your fish are too warm, don't feed them. Just keep the lights off and make sure they are getting enough oxygen.
