I have a 10 gallon hospital tank for a bullied pink convict inside my stand. There is not much light in there.

I already have slowly been raising the temperature to 80-82. Should I add a light or is the darkness more calming for her to recover? She is not sick, just real beaten up and has some badly frayed fins.

I find lights off best. Seems to stress single cichlids in hospital/treatment tanks less.

All the best James

Just to update, she has healed up wonderfully, her fins have sealed back (mostly), and her beautiful orange color has come back.

She sadly cannot rejoin the tank but I have found her a home with a local fish keeper who breeds convicts and would love another female to breed. So a happy ending :thumb:
