I strongly believe that one of Yellowtail Acei is holding fry. Her cheeks look fat and the bottom part of her mouth has a bulge. My concern is that she wants to eat, but she does not appear to be willing to open her mouth. I have seen people strip holding fish. However, I am not prepared to raise any fry or strip a fish. I would actually be nervous attempting a strip for fear of injuring the mother. Will she eventually spit the fry in the main tank? Is she at risk of getting sick or dying because she is not eating while holding?

Yes, she will eventually spit the fry in the main tank; and no, she is not in danger because she is not eating whilst brooding. Just let nature take its course, and all will be well. :fish:
