HLLE or Hole in the Head disease

:-? Hi at the risk sounding uneducated about fish illnesses, is there a way to find out if humans can contract a form of hlle on their skin. Mother in law has an Oscar with hlle and she constantly has her arm in the aquarium. Now, she has something on her arm that the dermatologist is not familiar with, he is testing the area. Just curious. Thanks, carmen

I would certainly mention it to the dermatologist. They may request a biopsy from the oscar, as well.

I can't say for certain whether it can be transmitted from fish to human, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility.

I once had a dachsund puppy that caught the mumps from me!

Is it possible the Oscar also has Mycobacteriosis (piscine TB)? That is one fish disease that can spread to humans as a skin infection.
