I will be installing my 100g in the basement and need to purchase a pump for water changes. The hose will be 30 feet long and the drain is one floor above. What would be the recommended GPH?

I don't know, but it's not just GPH, but also head, which is the height the water has to be lifted.

Hello

I would get at least a Mag 12 pump. At a 10 foot head height it will pump around 600 gph. I would get a Mag 18 that would pump around 850 gph. I use a Mag 9.5 to pump in to the floor drain on the same floor that the tank is located.

Your basement doesn't have a floor drain? I would use that. Or install a drain on one of the waste stacks.
