I realize this topic is done to death but I could use some specific advice on strategy.
I will be purchasing a 125 gallon within a month and I plan on using stability (already purchased) by seachem to get the cycle going. On the tank will be a Eheim 2260 and a Eheim 2229 wet dry. I want to avoid doing a fishless cycle. The question is how many fish can I add up front to ensure that enough amonia is produced to keep the bacteria alive. All fish will be in the 11/2 to 2 range so they are pretty small.
I guess my concern is the 2260 has a lot of area to cover in terms of bio media, not to mention the wet dry. I don't want the bacteria to starve. I'm more than willing to pick up a second bottle of stability if needed. That being said, I don't want to risk putting too many or too little fish in at the same time.
Any advice appreciated.
