I started a 29 gal. Tank last week.
I just added 2 danios and a Tiger barb to cycle with 4 days ago.
I added two plants from LFS and already have green hair aglae forming on the one plant.

Both plants are in baskets from the LFS with their rockwool.
Should i get rid of the plant with the aglae forming on it. or is it to late.

What does the algae mean?

Also What fish would be small enough, but eat the algae. I have heard ruby barbs ?

Algae means you've got too much light, too much of one nutrient and none of another, inconsistent CO2 levels, poor tank mantinence habits or ammonia in the tank. Since you're cycling, I'd put money on ammonia and light being the cause. I'd keep the lights off as much as possible until the tank is fully cycled.
