Help: need automatic feeder..leaving town

How long will you be gone? Fish can go quite a while without food. I had a feeder not work while I was on vacation for two weeks, and the fish were fine.

If you want to get a feeder, the Eheim is probably the best, and the easiest for controlling the amount of food dispensed. You have to be careful not to overfeed.

Unless you will be gone more than 2 weeks I would not use an auto feeder. The fish can go without food for over a month as illustrated when the females hold. Auto feeders can break which would pollute the tank and be worse than returning to fish with an appetite. :thumb:
