Hey, my names is Drew and I am new to fish and to the forum. I bought a few cichlids on christmas eve and they were in the african peacock tank at the lfs. I have no clue what type of peacocks they are because two of them are brown with light black stripes and they are starting to show a little blue. The third one I bought is almost see through and has orange spots and dark orange vertical bands. It is also starting to show a hint of blue pigment in the fins. all of them range from 1.5"-2.5" and I have them in a 30g tank. I know it's not ideal but it's what I have for now..

that one was in the "african peacock" tank at the store. it doesnt seem to get along with the other two.

First is Hybrid Peacock of some sort, if it really is orange like that. Nobody knows for sure what the parentage is. No scientific name applies.

Second I think is a mass market quality "Red Empress Hap"... if pure, dunno.

the orange one is starting to get red spots/ stripes around the gills and head and it is also showing a touch of blue in the fins if that helps. both of them seem to be coloring up a bit except for one who remains a dark brown/ green color... i think that one is a female..
