Let us know what comes of it.
I bought a small but breeding size lab recently hoping it was female because I have 3 labs and they're all male(I think). The very next day after buying it, it looked like it was either holding or had a gravel in it's throat. It was only there for a day though. It's done this twice now but I'm thinking it's really a male too because so many people say that if they have black on their bottom fins they are and this one does. I wonder if there is a reason they would hold gravel like that? Sorry don't mean to be hijacking your thread lol. It just came to mind after Cichlid Power's reply and thinking maybe yours could be holding gravel too.
