Hey Guys / Girls, I have managed to get a 180gal CA/SA community tank which has no aggression issues. tenants: oscar, JD, GT, con, FM, sev, black ghost knife, Silver Dollars, CLs, Breeding BNs.

Anyway I have another 180gal which has 2 x 3" EBJDs - i was wanting to add some of my above fish to this tank so it doesn't look so bare (sev, silver dollars & BN)

would you do this? or would you not risk changing the pecking order of my established tank resulting in war?

Ditto! :thumb: No sence changing things up if what you have works. Those fish will grow out and help with the bare look issue , especially the knife fish.

G'day,
I think we are missing the point here, two 180 gal tanks, one happy community one with just 2 small EBJD's.....I am sure it does look bare.

If you really want to add your suggested fish with the EBJD's I am sure it'll be fine(depending on size of SD and Sev of course. I know that EBJD can be very touchy fish(from what I've heard not experienced, very very rare fish in Australia) so just observe to ensure all is OK.

But really as you say the community tank is going so well, personally i wouldn't change it. Could be an opportunity to get more fish  . Say a school of tetras or something to fill some space (for a while anyway) without risking you EBJD's as they'll grow. What is your desired future plan for them, maybe you need to think about adding some smaller not too aggressive cichlid tankmates while they are all small so they can grow up together, may assist with future harmony. But it appears your on top of this, considering your happy community tank.

hope this helps some, good luck.

cheers
Mudjimba
