i was talking to one of my command officers at work and he has a tank with oscars and said something about a food that stimulates growth in them?
is there such a food for cichlids? is it bad for them? i have never heard about it but wanted to know more about it
and wonder if its healthy for them :-?

I believe NLS makes a growth formula, but IMO, as long as you're feeding a quality food and doing lots of water changes for young fish, they will grow just fine.

when he was telling me about it all i could think of was the hormones they give cattle to make them "bulk" up i wasnt sure how healthy it was for them or if it could make life long health problems for them....

If he's referring to hormones, or any other strange additives, you don't want to do that to your fish.
