I got a group of 5 Gold Dempseys late last year…

All have proven to be very healthy fish…

I was playing with the settings on my camera and this was one of the better pics I got tonight and I thought I’d share…

This is a male 6.5" TL... you can see a 6" female to the right side of the pic... The reds & blues in his fins are far more noticable in real life...

Those are beautiful fish. But wicked expensive. I've heard they're less aggressive than regular Jacks, is this true?

The group I got were all male except one... every one of the males grew impressively fast and have been impressively active/aggressive fish... The female grew slow but has been spawning monthly since she was old enough to start…

In my experience they are a much stronger strain than typical LFS quality Dempseys...

Blue Dempseys are known to have some genetic weaknesses... I would have to say these Golds are the exact opposite... A very impressive strain…

As for expensive... $8 each through Ken Davis (FishFarmUSA)... shipping might getcha but blame that on fuel rates not fish prices

Actually Ken has very economical USPS 2 day shipping available - works well with small fish. I had a box of six 2" Midas sent to me for a whopping $12.00 over the cost of the livestock.

Beautiful dempsey. I have to say that this picture is by far the best representation of a gold strain dempsey that I've ever seen. :thumb:
