I have a chance to pick up a group of Hemitilapia Oxyrhnchus. The only info I can find is that they use to be common in the early years of the hobby but they sort of dissapeared. Also that they are Herivors, they max out at 8'' and the minimun tank size is 75 gallons.

Does someone have experiance with this fish and can you give me some more info on them. Thanks for the help

I've got one. He's about 5", has a very different 'blue' to him, and red fins.
Interesting fish in the wild as they feed by stripping algae from Val... If you ever see video of it, they start at bottom and sort of swim sideways along the length of the plan to get the aglae.
(Ad Konings showed this in a presentation I once attended)

I've had people mistake him for t. intermedius... The intermedius is less blue and more 'teal' of a color. I can get you a photo if you like.

That would be great! Do you think a group of 8 2m/6f will work ok in a 75 or should I put them in my 4' 120. I know the 120 would be better for them but a friend of mine is at the Classic this weekend and is bringing me back a group of Cyps and a group of Furcifer or Ventralis and I was hopping to use the 120 for them.

Thanks for the help
