Ph is maintaining at 7.6 but water is reading a little soft. Will low Kh and Gh cause lack of appetite?

What is your KH?

pH and GH can be somewhat ignored, KH cannot be.

kh is reading about 80 on API test strips however I have not found these to be accurate when measuring Ph. My tank at work measures 240 on Kh and the fish are much more active in that tank.

80ppm is considered to be soft water... depending on your tank, a KH that low could also allow a crash should fish wastes build up. I'd be using baking soda if I had a rift lake cichlid tank at 80ppm.
