i got a pair from lfs and they are still pretty small. they spawned last week and a couple of days later they ate the eggs. i have them in a ten gallon by them selves.

They will spawn again soon! Since you just got them, they may have eaten the eggs just from being stressed by the move. It's not unusual for it to take them a few tries to get it right!
