| An ovophilous mouthbrooder. G. crassilabris does not make a good beginner Geophagus as it is somewhat demanding with respect to aggression and sensitive to stress. Males can be very hard on each other. G. crassilabris is the only mouthbrooding cichlid found in Central America. There is some debate to whether it actually is distributed in Colombia. |
