OK for the first time i've noticed fry in my tank. it seems to be impossible to catch them ( and get them to safety) they ,so far, are eluding other large fish, they are africans and seem to be hidding out in narrow rock areas. Once again I can't see any way of catching them at there size and quickness I'm affraid if i start to remove rocks and other decor that I will either kill them accidently myself or leave them open to attack. My question is, do these little guys have any chance to survive if I just leave them alone ? I mean they must find a way out in the wild to do so. I have a 75 gal. african in wall set up with about 18 cichlids 2 to 3.5 inches .Also, how many fry usually are hatched, I see only 3 so far, understanding many might have already met with there end. Please advise.

Just leave them. Depending on species and age maybe between 15 to 30 , but you probably have a few more you can't see.

I'm in the same boat. I saw 3 fry in my 55g. and don't even know who the mother was let alone the father lol. You can put in a rock pile of dark colored rocks and they will stay in that. I guess put it near where you saw them. I really don't think my fish had that many fry or I would have noticed it holding. I'm just letting mine be and hoping they make it.
