What do you think about Frontosa's and Floating plants?

I know Frontosa's aren't vegies and they like dark light. Beside I have open aquarium and have been thinking to have Frontosa's with Floating plants. Does someone have some experiance with something similar? Do you think this is good idea?

I have in mind floating plants like Eichhornia crassipes or Limnobium laevigatum.

Floating plant is a great idea of frontosa IMO. They provide covers for your fish which most fish will appreciate.
