Normally you wouldn't because the biological filter would handle the ammonia on it's own. You should never get an ammoia reading unless it's a new tank or your having a problem that's overwhelmed your biofiltration. Are you having some issues with ammonia?

a little bit but i think its because its still cycling.. its been about 3-4 weeks . still have a reading at about 1ppm.

I dpn't know what kind of fish you are keeping but I have had 1 and even 2 ppm and it did not effect my fish. try aereating the water and see if that will help it vaporize into the atmosphere.
