I have always fed my Mbuna on NLS Cichlid pellets however someone showed me some spiralina floating sticks for Mbuna that I can buy in bulk. The sticks are about 5mm and seem to be ok size for my fish.
My issue is I put some in for the first time and not one fish took any and all still are floating on the surface.
Will they switch and get used to the floating food? As I have a lot of it.
I read on here that Mbuna like floating food, maybe I should leave them for a day so they are very hungry and go for it.
Any advice is much appreciated

Try pre-soaking one of the sticks in some drinking water. Beak the stick up into pieces, then microwave it in a little bowl or something for a few seconds to drive the air out of it. Allow to cool. Do the pieces sink?

The ones I put in are still floating around the surface. I'll try breaking them up a bit see if that helps and wait till it's there feeding time. If they still don't take it then I'll try pre soaking it and breaking it up too. Surely they will work it out. Has anyone else tried floating pellets.
