I got this 50 gal glass tank from someone and the seam on one of the corners had popped open. I was planning on just taking off that one end and resealing it. I don't want to screw anything up taking it all apart. Is it the GE silicone II thats the same as aquarium silicone? Do you guys have any helpful hints like am I goin about it the right way? I've only made acrylic tanks before.

GE silicone 1 for windows and doors is what you're looking for. If you're gonna take off one end it's probably a good idea to completely dissassemble the tank, clean it well and reassemble from scratch. Be prepared though. It's usually a PITA to dissassemble it in the first place. Be sure to have tons of razorblades and band aids ready...
