 It's surprising to see your aquarium has one floating dead fish. Aside from being dead what shocks me is that his left side is ripped. I'm not sure if he was eaten by his own kind by the time he died or before he died.

Does any one of you encountered this? By the way, the fishes in my aquarium are all Chinese carp. :fish:

Very common for living fish to nibble on a dead fish.

Sadly I see this every day I go into work. Pets is my neighboring department so I'm over there frequently assisting the customers and the pets associate is unwilling to fish out the dead fish multiple time a day when he is able to and is more often dragged across the store to his other department leaving me in charge and unable to actually fill the fish logs out because I don't know if he's already done the paperwork yet (which he will do then leave the dead fish floating until an hour before his shift ends)

most animals do this, not just fish. Meat is meat regardless of its source. Most fish are more than happy to turn cannibal if the opportunity presents itself.
