Congratulations on the eggs. It could be that the female is just picking out bad eggs - not fertilized and/or fungused. That's part of good brood care. It could also be that she eats the whole lot. It is not unusual for cichlid parents to need a few attempts before they really get the hang of how to do this whole spawning thing. I'd give them at least 2-3 chances of getting it right. If that fails, you can pull the eggs the next time you see any, and try to raise them without the parents. The good news is that if a pair has spawned once, they usually keep going in fairly regular intervals.
