I hope someone can help me :-? I have a spawning pair of red jewel cichlids that have an entire tank (47 gal) to themselves as they spawn like crazy. Last Thursday the female laid more eggs then I have ever seen, she was fanning the eggs like crazy  Then they moved the eggs like usual by Friday ..now forward to Monday my poor female has lost her color and the male is shooing her away :( She is eating today fed them brine shrimp with spirulina (sp?). Why did this happen ? Is she stressed ? Tired from caring for so many eggs ?
Please help me :D

Relationships with cichlids do sometimes break down. I usually give spawning pairs a couple week break from each other if things look fishy. I suggest you do the same. :) She is stressed for one reason or another. Giving her a break from him by removing HIM will help greatly.

Always remove the aggressor. :)
