I saw some peacock that are for sale by someone but the main question is ...how do I know the female i am getting is the same as the male? They all look pale and stuff. any hints?
can't really tell which female belongs to what species, theres a few that u could probably tell right off like when i see a female lwanda or ngara they have their own unique look from the rest of the drab females, but really u never could know which one is which unless its a good source.
I will only buy peacocks from private breeders with single species tanks because of this very problem. Many LFS think it's okay to throw them all in a tank together, adding to the confusion.
I agree with DragonGT83...There are a couple of species that are distinctive, but it takes a highly trained eye to pick them out, and I certainly wouldn't trust myself to do it!
