I purchased 3 Aulonocara stuartgranti Cobwe ''Blue Regal'' a little over a year ago. They are about 3" long now and none have any color. One is holding eggs in her month and not eating. Do females lay eggs and hold them in their mouth with no males in the tank to fertilize? Or is it that I have a male with no color and breeding ? Other fish are a bristle nose pleco and a Synodontis lucipinnis ''Dwarf Petricola'' catfish.

Sounds like you have 3 females. They sometimes hold without a male but will soon swallow them. I would get a male. It would color up within a few months and likely breed
