In my 75g I have 2 Emperor 400's for filteration, considering the fish I was thinking about possibly adding a sponge filter to the tank for a little extra filteration. I've never used sponge filters before but they seem pretty decent. Just curious if it's even worth it to add one to the tank. 2 jacks and a jag are the proud owners of the tank.

I won't pretend to know what jacks and jags are, but two Emperor 400s is plenty for a 75.

But obviously more filtration seldom hurts. It's just that sponge filters take up room and stand out too much!

I don't see the need for the sponge filter with two 400's already on the tank. Obviously won't hurt though. If you want to add biofiltration, I'd be tempted to pack a small canister with biomedia and put a sponge over the intake.
