Comments:
Pairs of this aggressive species are best kept in six foot long tanks. A tank divider is highly recommended even in these larger tanks, to protect the female in the event fighting breaks out in the pair. A colorful species - females seem to reserve their absolute best coloration for spawning. Intense, overall yellows with an almost full length belly section, of very bright, orangey red color, make viewing a spawning, quite an event for this cichlid. Beautiful!
