Hi everyone! I just bought a 150 gallon tank and I have a perfect spot for it, but I'm not sure if I have enough support. It would sit on 8x4 1/2 inch plywood which is on top of 3 standard 32" kitchen cabinets. Does this sound sufficient? I'd like to not modify the cabinets if I can help it so that if we ever move they are intact. But I don't want to take any chances either. Thanks for your input!

I can't quite visualize what exactly you're proposing but it doesn't sound safe. Your tank is going to weigh around 1800 lbs when it's full of water. Kitchen counters are not generally designed to support that kind of weight.

No, floor cabinets. I guess it would be just like putting it on a kitchen counter. Probably not a good idea, but it would be so convenient!

Would work if you reinforced the interior of the cabinet with some 2X4 supports..
