Hey, All!
I have a 3 year old Electric Blue Jack Dempsey that has been in a standard dimension 75 gallon tank. Water parameters are 0 ammonia, nitrite, and 0 nitrates most of the time. Wc 25-35% 2ce/week. I noticed a scratch on his head a week ago and that has healed up but I noticed a small hole. I've heard a lot about hole in the head, but don't know if this qualifies. No clue how long it's been there. He's lived with giant danios and tiger barbs, and 3 months ago, I got Odessa barbs. Let me know if I need to be concerned. Picture shows hole above nostril.

I don't know New World, but it does sound like hole in the head. If your tank is cycled, your nitrate should not be zero. Maybe try that test again?

If you have googled hole in the head and it looks like your fish I would start treating. Meanwhile maybe someone else will chime in.
