First off I'm very new to this, so forgive me if these have
been covered before. (I did search)

I've got a Labeotropheus Fuelleborni, she's been holding for
17 days now. She didn't eat at all until today, she only took
a couple of pellets from what I could see, then swam back to
her cave. Is this normal?

I'm considering stripping the fry because I have a couple
of Sciaenochromis Fryeri in the same tank. At how many days
should I do this? Different sources say different things.

Is there any way to tell if the eggs have hatched into fry?

Sometimes the mothers will try to eat while holding fry due to hunger. I've noticed this in females that are holding for the first time quite often.

At Day 17, it is safe to strip the mother and the egg sac on the fry should be minimal. The mother should eat normally right afterwards.
