I would think most would say to keep multiples of any Mbuna,Dwarf or not.

That being said there are ways, such as all male tanks to keep one of each type but then I would think you would run out of DWARF species before you had enough for an all male tank.

Of course you could add some non Dwarf species to fill out your stock List.

1 Yellow Lab,1 Rusty,1 Cynotilapia,1Saulosi or demasoni,(not both though) All male

Plus a mildly aggressive list of non dwarf mbuna like 1Metriaclima ,1Melanochromis,1 Ps. Acei,
1 Labeotropheus,1 Socolofi. All male.

That's 9 fish total which should fill out an all male mbuna. but it's still hard to manage.

All male mbuna tanks can be tricky but is probably your most likely scenario for 1 of each type tank.
