I think my 3+ yr old keyhole has dropsy. He is slowly but surely swelling and now his scales are starting to lift. He is starting to get the pinecone look...

I really dont understand why. Water perams are perfect and I have done numerous wc's in the last few weeks.

I just had an issue with another fish who is fine now, and I am really upset with all these health problems lately.

Anyway, my question is what do i do with him? He is my longest tenured fish and at the moment i have no quarentine tank. Is this something that could spread to my other fish. Everything I read says "possibly contagious".

Please help.

Take a look at the article and sticky in this section.
Some people have success with Metronidazole, others with Clout. If the fish is still eating, feed metro soaked food. If not, I'd use Clout. With both treatments, add epsom salt to the tune of 1 tablespoon per 5g. Premix and add gradually over 4-5 hours.
