I recently added 2 albino yellow labs (about 3 inches) Prior to that I had a few fry of yellow labs which were well established in the tank with larger rock grazing mbuna. Today I was horrified to find one of the fry (slightly shy of an inch) the mouth of one the newly added yellow labs. The albino lab resembles the one in one of your earlier posts.(I was not in the mood to take a picture of the gruesome sight)

My question is whether this predatory behaviour is typical of yellow labs?
Are these albino types hybrids? Mine tends to resemble the red zebra.
My suspicion is that (I hope) the fry was sick and it was not hunted.

Adults will always eat fry. In the future you might want to wait until the fry are over 1.5" before mixing with adults. Most albino Rift Lake cichlids are hybrids.
