Assuming these were the only species in a 120 gallon (4X2) tank, would it work?

I am actually more concerned about the Msobo + Johanni conflicts moreso than the Demasoni + either.

Thanks..

I tried Met. sp. Msobo + Melanochromis Cyaneorhabdos in a 125 gallon tank (72x18), and although the males of each species never got in any observed direct fights, my Msobo male was intimidated by the Maingano male and did not show full colors and did not breed. I had a similar problem with another species not coloring up, so I decided to remove the M. Cyaneorhabdos from the tank. After this, both my Msobo and the Elongatus 'spot' males colored up much more and the Elongatus has started breeding. I suspect the msobo will breed soon (it's only been about a month and a half).

I would expect a johanni to have even more conflict with a msobo because both have yellow-orange females. I'd put it at a very high chance of cross-species aggression and crossbreeding. The Johanni and Demasoni I'd imagine would be ok together.

Best of luck!

My intuition so either the Msobo or the Johanni with the Demasoni..

I prefer the Msobo..
