My fry have absorbed their egg sac around day 20 or so, but my adult females will hold longer if they feel threatened. There's also a difference between my wild caught cyps who hold longer than their F1 offspring.. but they're kept in very different set ups, so it's likely due to the environmental variables. I have observed that females who hold beyond 25 days tend to be in poor shape and take longer to regain body mass and color.

I just stripped 2 of my WC utinta (9 fry). They were about 2 weeks or so along, and the egg sack has about 3 days to go I guess.

Easy strip though.

I would look at waiting 3 weeks. Then the kids are mint
