Well, the title kinda gives it away, but heres the long story. I've currently got a whisper 30 and a medium sized sponge filter working on my 26 gallon angel tank (2 angels and some other community friends). I just bought an AC70 to upgrade to, as I'm planning on planting the tank, and don't want the ugly sponge in there, and the whisper alone, well, sucks.

To help with a quick switchover, would it help to stick the sponge filter into my new AC70? I can simply cut it into strips to make it fit. I'd assume it would, but I figure I should ask.

YOu can do that, or depending on how heavily stocked, you could just squeeze the sponge into the AC70 and go from there. I do it 3 or 4 times after dunking it back in the tank. That way you don't have to keep it in there, since it will clog much quicker than the ac sponges will, and you can get the ac sponges going. If you didn't, they wouldn't colonize nearly as well.
