I know any mouthbrooders can cross breed but am I understanding correctly that the red zebra is the worst? I know if you're breeding red zebras you shouldn't keep them with yellow labs or cobalts because they can easily crossbreed but what about keeping yellow labs with cobalts, would they cross easily?

Typically, you don't see Yellow Labs crossing with Cobalts. If you males and females of each, you should be fine.
