Yesterday while I was setting up my filter under my 55 I noticed water stains seaping through the top of my tank stand. Thinking my tank was leaking and trying to avoid a big mess I emptied the tank right away and I put my fish into a big rubbermaid with all the rocks, sand, and my power filter. After placing the tank in the garage I saw the top of the tank stand was warped and no longer level, but slightly sunken in towards the back left corner.
Im guessing its no longer a good idea to put my 55 gallon back on this stand right? How could this be fixed without spending much money? Could I maybe place a 48" x ? peice of 3/4" wood on top of the stand?? maybe nail it on there? Any money saving ideas? Also my tank doesnt appear to be leaking...after placing it in the garage with about 3 " of water theres still in it no water on my garage floor...what do you guys think? Put more water in to be sure?
My last question is when I do get this problem sorted out will my emp. 400 be enough to keep a 55 cycled? I just replaced my rocks and sand a little under a month ago so I dont know how much they will help me out bacteria wise.
I'm so bummed this happened , I was pretty psyched setting up my first cannisetr filter and planned on ordering fish just next week. Now this little set back totally rained on my parade.

Thanks for the reply....So I did what you said and filled the tank up completly, actually I pretty much set my whole tank up on the garage floor with most of my rockwork , filter, and fish. I see no water seaping from the area in question, but it could be under the tank. I plan on moving the tank tommarow to check for any leaks. If I do not find any leaks (maybe the warping was the cause my filter maitnence) I guess I'll just set the tank back up on the stand and try to keep towards the front portion of my 48" x 19" stand away from the warped area. If I do find it to be leaking slowly from a seam I'm thinking I will just junk the 5 yr old 55 gal for a 40 br. and place it away from warped area as well. Any advice
